Kylie Jenner’s personal style is one that has never been set in stone since the start of her rise in fame on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Her style has the tendency to set trends as she rebrands her personal style every few years. As Jenner has grown more into her style, her style experimentations throughout the years have always been in the public eye. Her style decisions over the years appear to follow a trend of matching her personality and current lifestyle to her outfits.
KUWTK Kylie: 2007-2013
Jenner’s style throughout her teen years were more closely aligned with the fashion trends at the time rather than delving into her own personal style. As she was very young during this era, her personal style appeared to be a reflection of what others her age wore and the pieces in her closet resembled her older sisters' wardrobes. During this era, she could be seen wearing anything plaid and high-waisted.
King Kylie: 2014-2016
The“King Kylie” era, arguably her most iconic and well-known era, was what really set her apart from her older sisters. She was guaranteed to be seen with at least a few Cartier Love Bangles along with Birkins during her day-to-day life. Styling her high-end accessories with activewear and loungewear seemed to be her go-to look. During this style era, her closet mainly consisted of darker and edgier pieces which she then paired with bold makeup and hairstyles.
Mom-era: 2018-2022
As Kylie gave birth to her first daughter, with that came a change in her personal style. This era can be seen as more of a transitional period in terms of Jenner’s style, as she juggled motherhood and developing her fashion at the same time. Compared to her previous style era, this era was a more modest one where she was seen in longer dresses and more natural hair colors still with full glam makeup.
Khy: 2023 - Now
With the release of Kylie’s new clothing brand "Khy" in 2023, along came with it a new style era for her. She can be seen in more neutral and elegant clothing along with very natural makeup and hairstyles compared to her previous looks. Inspired by the Sofia Richie minimalist style wave, Jenner has traded her bold looks in for a more natural look.
What Stayed the Same
Although Kylie’s style has evolved over the years of her time in the spotlight, there have always been some core fashion pieces that she has stuck to. One of them is platform shoes. From the time she was a teenager on KUWTK to 2024 when she’s on red carpet events, Jenner can be spotted wearing a variation of platform shoes. Whether it be platform heels or platform sneakers in her younger years, the platform element has stayed consistent.
