Elevate your Halloween game with pieces you probably own at home!
Finding a cute Halloween costume on a college budget and not wanting to over consume don't have to be difficult. Making do with what most people already own and adding some affordable accessories can still help achieve an iconic Halloween look. The compiled list below features some trendy and iconic costumes that can be put together on a budget at the last minute.
1. Pirate
Pirate costumes have been worn for Halloween over the past couple of years with good reason. They look so cute and can be worn as a group costume.
What you will need for this look is any sort of short white dress/romper from your or a friend’s closet. To pair with the dress, add any chunky black belt around the waist if you don’t have a corset. Black fishnet tights or regular ones paired with boots and chunky gold jewelry have you one step closer to looking like the perfect pirate. For a final yet important touch, wrap any scarf or bandana around your head and use makeup to complete the look.
2. Katherine Pierce from The Vampire Diaries
Calling in all the brunettes for an iconic yet simple costume for this Halloween. Katherine Pierce from The Vampire Diaries and vampire costumes overall have been done time and time again, and the appeal is obvious.
For this particular Katherine Pierce costume, it is based on her most well-known look of the show from one of her first appearances. To put together this look, you will need any stringlet and bodycon black mini dress which can be found in any college girl’s wardrobe. To pair with that, add a bold red lip and a thin black masquerade mask which is sold at any costume store for under $10. Pair the look with any black boots or heels, part your hair in a half-up half-down style, and you have your iconic Halloween costume.
3. Victoria’s Secret Angel
The perfect costume for any girl who wants protection from the cold yet still has an easily recognizable and cute costume. The iconic bombshell-look has been trending once again and now you finally have an excuse to walk around looking like an angel.
This costume requires the most amount of accessories you would need to buy in comparison to the above mentioned looks. You will need a halo head-piece from any costume store and a pink silk or satin robe which are sold at stores like Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. Angel wings are a great addition but are not required to complete the look. Underneath the robe, any white dress or white co-ord set works perfectly to create that Victoria’s Secret Bombshell look.
